In Chapter 6 of 16, micro-philanthropist and humanitarian Adam Carter shares how learning local Cambodian culture while working with orphanages separates real local needs from a Westerner perceived needs view. Asking why there are no mattresses, Carter learns children do not lack mattresses - many had been donated; rather, they do not sleep on mattresses.
