Named one of "America's Great New Cooks" by FOOD & WINE Magazine, Sarah Simmons is the founder and chef of Birds & Bubbles restaurant in the Lower East Side of New York City. Simmons is also founder and chef of City Grit, a New York City "culinary salon" that has grown from supper club roots to become a concert hall for indie rock star chefs visiting from around the world.
A former retail strategist serving Fortune 100 clients, Simmons' life changed when she was named the Food and Wine Magazine Home Cook Superstar in early 2010. From there she created a catering company, began writing for Bon Appetit magazine, and built a loyal international following with her blog and Tumblr. Simmons graduated from the University of Georgia.
